Lemon Rx Microbrick

Post by stuart mackay »

Hi Guys, am thinking about importing the new Lemon Microbrick for the upcoming Indoor flying season.
Mike K has already one and I will be sending some to RCM&E when they arrive which may well end up with Shaun to review! :D

Lemon supply them with different battery connection options and not being an expert on this indoor kit, would appreciate your views before I order a batch?

For 1s operation I would use a jst ph-2 connector. This is very common on many batteries these days . The 1.25mm Molex is old school and less popular with the indoor mob. They don't appear to offer this currently but I think that's a mistake.
We used to change the 1.25 connector to the PH on drones and indoor models; it was like turbocharging them.

For 2 s, use the red jst connector.

Cheers,

Shaun.

Forgot to add, for micro indoor models almost all use 1s. A few slightly larger indoor aerobatic types use 2 S.

I have a Horizon Hobby ultra micro f27 Stryker, 180mm span that uses same size servos as the integrated lemon modules and fly's on a 2s set up.This is for outdoor use.

Thanks Shaun and Jackdaw, looks like your eyes are like mine!
Have asked for this info and fed-back your comments to Lemon on JST PH2 being preferred over the Molex, Shaun!

I too would vote for the JST connector...... I appreciate that these boards are intended for indoor flight and small models are hard to see if they get much more than about 100 mtrs away but these boards could be suitable for other applications like VPD or Radio DT so what range could be expected, are they "full range"? Also, my poor old eyes have been unable to find the overall size of the board?

The description indicates a potentially useful unit, primarily for but not only indoor.
I appreciate that not everyone has a fine-tip soldering iron or the visual acuity to use it but might there be a version with just solder pads ?
