Anyone for Seal watching.....?

Post by PaulJ »

I have to admit that age is catching up with me so with deep regret, I sold Damarri last year and bought something a bit smaller and easier to handle.
This one is a Westerly Fulmar......

There was quite a lot of work to do to get her as I wanted and we only got her back in the water this week. So today we went out on the river to try her out and test a few things. No sooner had we climbed out of the dinghy and onto the boat than this fellow turned up and decided that our dinghy was the perfect spot for a bit of sunbathing.......

We left him for a while but eventually I wanted to get back in the dinghy so asked him (politely at first) to leave...... He wouldn't! So then I was rude to him, waved my arms, clapped my hands, shouted at him....... Still he wouldn't move. Then I started the motor which squirted exhaust cooling water at him and made a lot of noise...... He looked irritated but still wouldn't move and it was only when I threatened him with the boathook that he finally obliged!

I think I've done enough seal watching for one year!
