The PM notification isnt very prominent and I've noticed that often, PM's are left unread even when I can see the recipient has been on the forum - I do it too, sometimes you just dont notice the PM alert :D
You never know, it could be an important message from a Nigerian banker who needs you to hold $50,000 for him whilst he sorts his lost passport, if you could just pass him your bank details. Or something.
Or, it could be something more trivial, like your boards are ready but I need your postal address!
