Anyone remember this advert from 1977?
I recently built three SC/MP based machines including this SoC MK14 repro.
Many of the chips have been out of production for several decades, locating the original components is all parts of the fun:

Hi Phil
Sorry I don't remember the SoC but the advert price is interesting, it's about the same price as a Raspberry Pi is today, something along with RC gear that was more expensive back in the day.

Hi Phil.
Nice job. Love the display.
Where did you get the programmed PROMs from?
Stew.

From other SC/MP enthusiasts Stew. Search "SCIOS Proms" on eBay, Chris Oddie does them, Benny (Audiokit) and others. Version 3 is the most recent.
However, there's an alternative - a carrier board that is electronically identical but uses 'current' chips. A further benefit is that it provides full memory expansion - 1.5k Vs 256 bytes!
The board is a plug-in so if ever you find genuine chips, it's a plug-&-play swap.
