100% is conservative for me. I have an 8mtr Hutter 17 plan (80%) full size) on the drawing board. Just need the motivation to get it started. It won't be rudder only.

You need to finish the 1/3rd scale primary glider first!

PS the SG38 is 1/4 scale...

it is neither scale nor big, nor is it pretty, but it might get you motivated to finish yours.
It is a SG-38 Schulgleiter from a Multiplex kit from 1970. Span is 160cm.
I know I am cheating with the motor in front, but who cares, with the motor it gets far more airtime.
It is a fine flyer but a poor soarer just like the origin. Cheers

When I attained my full size airworthiness endorsement on wood & fabric sailplanes, I did my training & assessment on a full size Hutter. To me, it more resembled an over grown model than a "proper" glider that you would strap your precious butt into

I agree Wayne, it does look like a scaled up Veron / Keilkraft kit.
Just think, my oversized toy will only be 2mtrs smaller than the one you worked on.

I just remembered - when it came time for the Hutter's test flight, the biggest 'challenge' was finding a tug that could safely fly slow enough not to exceed the Hutter's max tow speed (55kts?). It couldn't be winch launched as there was no belly hook!

Better look for a slow tug at Euro Flugtag!!

Well you'd better get someone to cover that Tomtit pronto, and get building!
