It should go up like a rocket ! My Cirrus launched quite happily but sedately using a 'piggy-back' OS 10 over the wing. Long deceased now though as the ABS fuz disintegrated with time.

12/ 6 seemed to cause a current drop to about 20A so need to look at that again with a freshly charged battery.
Tried an AeroNaut 12x7 with a fresh battery and current was initially high thirties and dropped to a steady state of 33.5 Amps.

It sure will go up like a rocket with this power unit.
My Cirrus is well over 40 years old, still with the original ABS fusalage (breaks repaired at least 20 times). It is a great flyer, but I have to be carfull during cold weather and during landing. The ABS fusalage is not forgiving any mishaps esp. in cold weather. But no problems in the last five years after the last restauration.
I use an original "piggy-back" power pod with an 2836 brushless motor on 3S lipo, a 9x6 prop drawing a little over 20A and it is going up quite well.
Flight-times of one hour are common.
I use the same power pod on my Cumulus and Graupner K8b, they all have the same wing section.

Finally got round to restarting this project this week after a very long lay off.
Wings are finished build, servos installed with just (!) some sanding, cutting aileronsout & fitting tips etc to be done.
Found some great little digitalwing servos 5.2 kg JX digital for around £15 each delivered.
They worked ok for a couple of hours on my servo tester and appear similar quality/clones of the Hitecs at a fractio
Just need to find the other bits now which are in a safe place!!
