Wings dry fitted for first time, dihedral appears when under load, before anyone says it!

Great airplane Stuart. I have both versions, one with ailerons and one without. I like the 2ch version better, it is easier to set up, less hassle and difference in flight performance is hardly noticible.
But you will like it anyway.

Thanks Frank & Rafael for your thoughts! Much appreciated!

Bit the bullet, and triple checking the wing alignment and coating everything that must NOT stick Vaseline, I bonded the fuselage wing tubes in with my favourite epoxy UHU Endfest 300 or Araldite 24 hr to the Brits! You may be able to see the two O rings on the main tube used to keep in place and also to keep the glue where it is needed!

All went to plan and the epoxy is curing as I write this.... so back to continue the 2.4 conversion of my period correct varioprop 12S which I plan to use with the Cirrus! Fitted with a GTS F3A Encoder and Lemon 2.4 RF module.viewtopic.php?f=27&t=1731&p=14397#p14397

Today's tinkering was spent finding enough bits of wire and brass tubing to fit the all flying elevator horn. Just needs gluing in after I have made the pushrod.

Epoxied the tail bearing rivets into the fus and off to Slec in Watton to check out if they have any steel grade 8 mm sq balsa for the pushrods!

More progress today on the fuselage, made a servo mount/ battery retaining board from 1/16 ply and fixed in place with three screws from the fuselage underside. Uses a period plastic graupner servo mount and pushrod ends for elevator pushrod and guess what? It all wiggles as it should!
Next job is to sort out rudder linkage probly using a snake as it need to clear the elevator pushrod and there isnt much room at the rear end of the fuz.

Rudder: Might closed loop be a good alternative option in that confined area ?

I miss my Cirrus ! Built with some difficulty onboard HMS Bulwark ("Rusty B"). Maiden test flight was over the Cerne Abbas Giant back in 1973. Photos shown to members of the fullsize gliding club at Yeovilton generated criticism that the machine had been exceptionally low in a tricky soaring area - until someone noticed that there was no cockpit occupant and it was a very realistic model ! (Cirrus was a 'hot ship' in those days)
