Outstanding work!
It's not trivial designing PCB for 2.4GHz, but you've done it. And I love how you're testing it with your own DIY servos that's "icing on the cake"

....and here it gets its casing, you can see the difference despite the increased size in length and width of 1 mm it's thinner.
However it has gone from a 4ch. to 6ch. Rx

Re: From Tobe's skunkworkshop
....got today the opportunity to make a better ground range check on this 3 which followed that each got a flight....
I have compared my nRF24L01 Rx with the one with the commercial nRF24L01 board and the range are very similar with maybe the one with the wisker antenna slightly better. The ground check with the Tx at 1 mtr. (3 feet) above ground on a table I was able to walk at least 450 mtr. (1300 feet) keeping the Rx in my hand at eye level to see the blinking LED
What you see in the picture are the 3 versions of Rx, all based on an ATmega88PA and Nordic nRF24L01+ , the sketch utilize 6016 bytes of 8192 available
Here are a few numbers I found on the web...
https://www.bigsquidrc.com/2-4-ghz-radi ... dio-range/
Radio Name Distance in Feet/ground check
Futaba 4PKS 1233 feet
Futaba 3PL 1058 feet
Traxxas TQ 2.4 with Link 840 feet
Tactic TTX-240 808 feet
Spektrum DX3S 620 feet

Re: From Tobe's skunkworkshop
...just a little update from the Skunkworkshop after Tobe has had some spare time to play.
I have a few 1+1 and 3 channels transmitter projects and I realized that they need a smaller Encoder so I have designed this one... The board is slightly smaller than the DIY More, 33x43 mm versus 43x43 but has all features with the buzzer incorporated on the board as the 2 pots for rates/expo.
Experiment in progress to get it slightly smaller but that requires a different approach

Re: From Tobe's skunkworkshop
Unfortunately Wayne I have emptied my last bottle of "Tobe's spare time" for sometime ahead but hope to top off some new bottles soon.
Here is the outcome , a still unbranded 1+1 ch. Tx, flown this morning in a faithful Guided Might.
