Zeners for expanded-scale meters

Post by Phil_G » 14 Aug 2019, 12:32

For the meter on the Waltron I wanted one 6v2 zener but ended up buying 100.
They're not worth posting so if anyone wants a few FOC I'll be at the Nats.

For the curious, the expanded-scale meter starts at 6v rather than at zero, so a 9v
battery (say) would read from 6v to 9v across the whole meter scale (instead of 6v to 9v
being crammed into the last 1/3 of the scale) which gives a better indication of charge.
Anything less than 6v reads as zero - at 6v its flat, you dont need to know "how flat?" :D
