Dave got knocked off - by the time they'd recovered the bike they were back to 20th...
10 minutes to go, looks like calling it a DNF. Ah well, good days, bad days...

Shame after leading the class and P3 overall but there you go

Back to Teesside Autodrome this weekend, Roo wins the Sprint Final seconds before a thunderstorm broke out!

To avoid new posts popping up for those who aren't interested, I'll use this post as a sort of blog, I'll just keep updating it as & when.

Just found this nice pic - Roo (my youngest) during an 8-hour endurance race at Teeside Autodrome. First in class IIRC
They might not be able to host any more 24-hours as they've had noise complaints form people who knowingly bought
houses near a decades-established race track. We're currently having a similar problem with a new estate on the edge
of Ponty Park.

'Tis an ongoing problem everywhere made worse by inflated self expectations. Don't get me started
Back when I was doing ATC in the tower at Camden, every weekend the sh1t-cunning real-estate agents trying to sell executive country lifestyle acerages would phone in to find out the runway likely to be used all day, then apparently tailor their sales pitch up to and including advice that the aerodrome would be closing soon, the "noisy" runway was only used for emergencies, the new estate had an agreement with the aerodrome, etc., etc. Don't underestimate the lengths unscrupulous agents will go to to get a fat commission!!

Yay! Proud-Dad syndrome
Out of a pack of 58 starters including several professional teams, my lads Roo & Dave came second in todays 4-hour Freetech Endurance at Teeside Autodrome Dave has been really poorly for 2 weeks so had only a few days to prep the bike so he's chuffed to bits. Roo actually took it, seconds from the finish. The team had been split this weekend as there was a clash of race dates, Paul was at Cadwell (also came 2nd), Stu & Alex were at Donington, Alex had a spectacular crash down Craner but he's ok but the bike is wrecked, thats 130mph!

Yep 125 endurance, 4, 8 or 24 hours, this was just a 4 hour one. Amazes me how a 125 can survive 24 hours of continuous nailing but it does!

From Three Sisters, FAB-Racing 2024 Round 3, both lads on McCrash-Racing 125 Yamahas, black & pink, 761 and 769
FAB is primarily a 'kids on minimotos' promoter who run the larger classes as & when ... the lads are in the later 'Mototeam' class...

Results:
Race 1 Dave 2nd in class (by just 13ms), Roo crashed on lap 8 (he's fine)
Race 2 Dave 2nd in class, Roo pulled in cos he was sore
Race 3 Dave 3rd in class, Roo 5th in class

with a 2,2,3 Dave gets overall 1st (its a points tally)

Teeside Autodrome 8 hour Endurance today:
Sprint (Qualifying 1) - 8th overall of 38, 1st in streetstock class, top 20 go through to Qualifying 2
Sprint (Qualifying 2) - 11th overall of 18, top in streetstock, Daves front tucked on the final right from 3rd overall
8 hour Endurance Race - running 7th out of 37, at 3½ hours in the gearbox seized entering a fast right, game over, one mccrash each!

Not a brilliant weekend but they enjoyed it, we do this purely for fun (perhaps thats just as well...)

Not been updating this, but the 125 racebikes are gone, the lads are now doing Mini-twins which is 650cc twin cyl bikes. Both have a Suzuki SV650.
Today 10th August 2025 was Snetterton, Dave came 5th in race 1 and 4th in race 2, times were under the previous lap record in both races.
Roo's bike isnt quite ready yet, delays caused by parts that dont fit, fairings delivered broken etc... frustrating but it happens
Next round is Cadwell.
