Multiplex labels & stickers from the 80's

Post by Wayne_H »

Unpacked another few boxes while looking for my 'old' MPX bits 'n pieces and found these. While MPX is not as commonly used/seen as the UK & Yankee gear regularly featured on this forum, I thought these may be of interest to anybody contemplating making/restoring something less common :)

Hi Wayne,

I have been an avid Multiplex fan since I purchased my 3010 in the early '90's. I recognize most of the stuff you show here (except the little guy hammering on the anvil), but I am puzzled by the text "Jerilderie 2003". Any idea?

Cheers,
Max.

Hi Max,

As I understand it, MPX Oz (Model Flight) were sponsors of the LSF comp that year & had that sheet printed for participants.

Jerilderie is a small town in Australia, where an annual RC glider competition is held in June (comp has been going for around 30 years)

I do.
Elly and I once played at a festival where this more than excellent UK/Aus duo played as well.
I remember him singing this self penned song about a place called Jerilderie.
It probably points to the same spot, mentioned in this thread.
I like the rhythmic twist that drives the tune but maybe that's just a musician's thing, I dunno.

Looks like an eight string guitar but strung and tuned like an Irish bouzouki?
