Babcock Transmitter BCT-2& BCR-3 new In box

A couple of years ago I saw an advert to "come and pickup a box of old transmitters or they go to landfill". In the photo I saw the corner of a Controlaire 10Ch reeds type transmitter which I really wanted. Off I went to get the assorted transmitters and found a wealth of neat old stuff in the plastic tote box. There was a catch however, I could not keep the tote box I had to bring my own!!!!
Among them this unused still in the original box Babcock BCT-2 transmitter and an in the box Babcock BCR-3 receiver also unused and as well as an original manual.

As typical with these very old radios no antennae was included. You were expected to use a 3 foot length of about 3/32" piano wire to plug into the transmitter socket.

From reading the manual I saw a date of 5/15/53 on the schematic drawings (probably drawn once and used for the entire productions run!)

I thought it was far too good for landfill! It is still in the box on a shelf probably waiting for the next owner to do the same with it.
